I realise we have been dwelling on how to be happy, how to appreciate happiness and all these positive
sometimes-bullshit stuff and have kind of neglected sadness. Therefore, I would like to take this chance to say that it is perfectly okay to feel sad from time to time. Just strike a balance. Walk out of the sadness as soon as possible, embrace all the little lessons in life and move on and let go and do whatever you have to. Like many have said before, happiness is a state of mind. It is a state where you have accepted whatever difficulties fate or life or whatever-divine-force-there-is has thrown your way and finding joy in overcoming them and being content with what little you have.
What I’m saying is: you don’t have to be happy all the time, because that’s not the way humans function. The quote says it all — there is some kind of sweet innocence in being broken and whole at the same time.
